Shellharbour Private Hospital is an acute-care surgical/medical private hospital licensed for 59 beds.
The Hospital has been a valuable member of your community for over 30 years and recently changed
ownership in January 2007. At Shellharbour Private, we recognise that patients and families have a
choice of where to receive care and it is that recognition that drives our high standards of quality.

In 2007, through a joint initiative with the University of Wollongong saw Shellharbour Private Hospital
become the first private medical training and teaching hospital in the Illawarra.

Shellharbour Private Hospital is accredited to ISO HealthCare Standards 9001:2000. Our certification reflects our commitment to quality, leadership, systems and the sound and stable processes that delivers consistently safe and expected patient outcomes.

Our acute-care facilities with two operating rooms, endoscopy procedural room and recently opened rehabilitation gymnasium demonstrate our strong commitment to deliver specialist and clinical excellence. This combined with our staff, industry knowledge and clearly defined objectives are the keys to our success.
We are a major employer in the Shellharbour council area with in excess of 75 dedicated employees and over 80 accredited medical practitioners servicing our local communities.
