Admission Process
During the admission process and throughout your stay, you may be asked many questions by our personnel. This information is necessary and we appreciate your cooperation as we work together as a team to make your stay as effective and comfortable as possible.

Consent Forms and Interpreter Services
Permission for treatment and surgeries must be signed by each patient or by next of kin. Parents or guardians must sign for minors. For non-English speaking patients, Shellharbour Private Hospital will provide an interpreter, whenever possible. For information about interpreter services, you may ask a member of our nursing staff.

Valuables
Shellharbour Private Hospital does not assume responsibility for loss of or damage to valuables, clothing or other personal items. We strongly advise you to leave your valuables at home. If this is impossible, you should deposit such items in the hospital's safe. If you have dentures, eyeglasses or contact lenses, please keep them in a protective container when not in use.

Medications
If you did not bring your medications taken at home, have a family member bring them as soon as possible so we can confirm their strength and dosage. We will make a list for your chart and have your nurse send them home with your family. Please do not take any of your own medications while in the hospital.
