Dr Matthew Threadgate has opened an independent local Urology practice and offers consulting and operating at Shellharbour Private Hospital.

Dr Threadgate’s practice aims to provide the highest standard of Urological care possible to both private and public patients in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands. Matthew has been trained in all aspects of urology with a particular focus on urological cancer care and reconstructive urology. He takes great pride in providing the most comprehensive and up to date care available. Matthew is the regions only qualified da Vinci robotic surgery proctor and the Illawarra’s most experienced robotic surgeon.

Dr Threadgate also has extensive experience in Greenlight laser prostate surgery and laser renal stone Surgery which is routinely performed at Shellharbour Private Hospital. Dr Threadgate also specialises in prosthetic urology for male incontinence and erectile dysfunction as well as general urology.

Qualifications and Training

Dr Threadgate received his Bachelor of Medicine through the University of Newcastle and completed his surgical training through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Since completing his training Dr Threadgate has kept up to date with the most recent technology and techniques by attending numerous workshops and courses both in Australia and overseas.

Dr Threadgate remains an active member of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand, American Urological Society and European Urological society.
