Dr Philip Markham BMedSci, MBChB, MRCSEd, FRACS, FAOrthA is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Wollongong with private appointments available. He specialises in hip, knee, shoulder and trauma surgery.

Knee arthroscopy (ACL reconstruction, patella stabilisation and meniscal repair)

Dr Markham trained in Sydney and obtained RACS Fellowship in 2016 as part of the AOA (Australian Orthopaedic Association) training program. Originally educated at the Edinburgh Medical School, Scotland, where he completed his Basic Surgical Training in 2005, before moving to Sydney and working at hospitals throughout NSW and the ACT.

Following his AOA training, Dr Markham underwent Fellowships in Hip, Knee and Revision Arthroplasty with Prof. Paul Smith in Canberra and in Shoulder and Reconstructive Surgery on the Central Coast. Since completing his Fellowships Dr. Markham has worked locally in Wollongong, where he has Consulting Rooms, and he has admitting rights at Shellharbour Private Hospital and Wollongong Day Surgery.

Dr Markham employs a variety of surgical approaches and techniques, including anterior and posterior approaches to the hip and computer assisted surgery. His practice also encompasses urgent trauma surgery in the private setting, and appointments for fractures are expedited.
